The perfect timber for fine furniture, but Blackwood artifacts are always statements of style and quality.

A timber that is irresistible to Tasmanian designers.  Tasmanian Blackwood (Acacia melanoxylon) has a variety of colours ranging from light golden-brown to deep brown.  It occurs throughout Tasmania's native forests but an 8,000 ha swamp forest is dedicated to Blackwood silviculture on a sustainable yield basis.  Rotations are generally around 70 years.  More information on Tasmanian Blackwood can be found here.

Our Tasmanian Blackwood mills are made by Chris Jackson of Wooden Magic, and have ceramic grinders.  They can hold 40 g of Tasmanian Mountain Pepper and have a 3-year manufacturer's warranty.

Blackwood isn't 'black' but often has a reddish tint.  Mountain Peppercorns aren't 'black' but always has a reddish tint.  Must be a match...
